Dr. Damiano Antognetti is a medical surgeon specializing in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, with a strong interest in research and technological innovation applied to rehabilitation. He currently works at the Azienda Ospedaliero-Universitaria Pisana (Italy) collaborating with the U.O. Senologia for oncological rehabilitation and with the S.D. Neurorehabilitation for the care and rehabilitation of neurological patients.

In science, he began his career by studying the care of complex patients with issues related to bone fragility, and then turned his attention to neuromodulation techniques, particularly audiovisual stimulation.

His master’s thesis, “The use of audiovisual stimulation in physical medicine and rehabilitation: literature review, innovative applications and future prospects,” explores the potential of this technology in motor, cognitive and visual recovery, with a focus on 40-Hz sensory stimulation and the management of nystagmus.

Side by side with his clinical activities, he participates in numerous research projects at the University of Pisa, in the Department of Translational Research and New Technologies in Medicine and Surgery, working on the integration of advanced technological solutions into rehabilitation protocols with the aim of improving the functional recovery and quality of life of patients.
